Phase 1

Phase 1 is an Introductory phase that can last ~3-6 months depending on where you (the associate) stand in school and experience. 10th Avenue Hair Designs will employ you at the hub of the salon, the front desk/reception. We will work with your school schedule and provide you the opportunity to earn an income while you learn the ins and outs of the salon’s operations including: Customer service, retail, scheduling and managing booking in a salon with 30+ stylists, inventory and merchandising, social media.

Phase 2

Phase 2 is the Assistantship phase that can last ~6-12 months depending on your experience. After you complete school and have earned your cosmetology license, you will assist a master stylist for a pre-determined number of hours per week. During that time you will receive technical education and advance your skills. Once you have completed the assistantship, you will have the skills and experience you need to confidently work behind the chair on your own clientele. While you are assisting, you will also continue to work in the salon for a pre-determined number of hours per week, based on your assistantship schedule. Duties include: Paid salon associate for 10th Avenue stylists (you may be asked to shampoo, blow-dry, style, take photos for social media), front desk/reception, general salon support.

Phase 3

Phase 3 is ongoing. Once you’ve “Graduated” as an Assistant you will have the option to continue employment as a salon associate or you can graduate onto our 10th Avenue commissioned stylist program. We will continue to help you build your career as a stylist whether you want to transition to booth renting or not, and will provide you ample opportunities for growth.
